She grabbed one of them. “Lawndale Sun-Herald?” she asked herself. “I suppose that’s where we are. Lawndale.”

“I haven’t heard of it. But Wade can help there,” Ron said.

“Yes, but look at this date,” Kim said. She passed Ron the newspaper.

“5th May 1999!” Ron read.

“A little over four years ago,” Kim realised.

Doctor Who – Mystery on Kalia Alpha
Angie Maitland arrived home to see that the Doctor was waiting outside for Clara, with the TARDIS blocking the footpath. “Hi Doctor,” she said as she came up.

“Hi, Angie. Could you let me in?”

“That’s up to Clara,” Angie said.

“She’s been getting ready. We’re only going to the future.”

“Safer than that amusement park?” Angie asked with a shudder. That was an experience she didn’t want to relive!

“It depends,” the Doctor responded.

“On what?”

“On what the nature of the danger is.”

“As long as it’s not Cybermen,” Angie said.

“There are some things out there worse than Cybermen!” the Doctor added.

“I don’t doubt that!”

Clara then opened the door. “No, you’re not coming with us,” she said.

“I want a trip without being nearly upgraded or assimilated!” Angie shot back. She looked Clara over. She had dressed elegantly with her hair tied back in a French braid.

“I suppose that’s reasonable,” the Doctor said.

“Don’t give her any ideas,” Clara said.

“Please!” Angie said.

“No!” Clara said. “Go to your room.”

“Oh, you’re no fun!” Angie said as she entered the house.

Excerpt from: Voyager and the Convergence
“Could you fill us in,” Clara asked.

“Five years ago, Voyager entered a subspace divergence field...” Janeway began.

“Interesting,” the Doctor commented. “This is a similar phenomenon,” he said to Kim, “But there are differences. Which is why we need to prepare.”

“What do we suggest we do first, Doctor?” Janeway asked.

“First, we'll warp to a 0.08 of a light year of the current position of the edge of the phenomenon and proceed at impulse power until it catches up to us,” he answered.

“That is interesting,”Aialah commented. “So, the ship's systems are maintained from here?”

“Yes,” Gamma answered. “Ordinarily there would be ten engineers for a ship of this class, along with the DOT16s.”

“And now?”

“There are eight Engineering Holograms, each with a designation from one of Earth's alphabets.”

“Then I’ll know?”
“Yes.”

“The Flyer has launched,” Ensign Kim reported.

“It will take four minutes for them to get in position.”

Eventually, the airlock opened and she walked through to the Enterprise, to find her daughter waiting for her. ‘Little One! I didn’t expect to see you waiting for me.’

‘Hello, Mother. Your message sounded rather urgent and I want to know what you know!’

Deanna was rather direct, but then she had reason to. And she sensed a lot of worry coming off of her.

She placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. Tasha’s turbulent emotions began to settle. But she knew that would have to be a session after they arrived at Farpoint.

“Greviously savage could mean anything,” Picard said. “I will answer only specific charges.”

“Are you certain you want a full disclosure of human ugliness?” Q asked. “So be it, fool!” He turned to the bailiff. “Present the charges.”

Excerpt from: A New Generation - Farpoint
Troi looked around the courtroom. She could detect nothing from the people there other than the other officers who arrived with her. But she knew Q was there, somewhere.

“Historically intriguing, Captain,” Data said. “Very, very accurate.”

“Mid 21st Century, during the Post Atomic Horror,” Picard said, referring to the many warlord states that arose in the aftermath of the nuclear exchange at the end of World War Three.

‘Could have been worse,’ Troi thought. It could have been Nazi Germany, Khmer Rouge Cambodia or the Great Khanate.

“All present, stand and make respectful attention to the honoured Judge,” the bailiff said.

Troi leaned closer to the Captain. “Careful sir. This is not an illusion or a dream.”

“But these courts happened in the past.”

“I don’t understand either, but this is real.”

“Get to your feet, criminals!”

Then Q appeared, in a garb appropriate to a ‘Judge’ of the era.

“At least we’re acquainted with the Judge, Captain,” Data remarked.

Picard stood. “Can we assume you mean this will be a fair trial?”

“Yes,” Q answered. “Absolutely equitable. Proceed.”

The Bailiff spoke again. “Before this gracious court now appear these prisoners to answer for the multiple and grievous savageries of their species. How plead you, criminal?”
