“Stacy?” the Doctor asked.

“Yes,” Quinn answered. “She reacted to the flicker in an unusual way.”

“What way?” the Doctor asked.

“Like she had felt something,” Quinn responded.

“I see,” Kaelyn said.

“She said that it wasn’t an ordinary flicker.”

“That could mean anything,” Kim said.

“True, but I can tell that she did pick something up,” Quinn said. “I probably woudn’t have noticed it if I hadn’t been travelling with the Doctor.”

“Did something happen?” Daria asked.

“Yes, but I’ll tell you later,” Quinn responded.

“Of course,” Daria said.

“So, we need to find Stacy,” Kim said. “So, where could she be?”

“She’s either in one of the bathrooms, or hiding somewhere in a courtyard,” Quinn answered.

“Either way, it would take a while to find her,” Daria said.

“We need to split up,” the Doctor said. “I’ll search the courtyards with Ron and Rufus, and everyone else can check the bathrooms.”

“Ron and I work best together,” Kim said. “But I agree, this time.”

“I would be best if there was a girl looking in the courtyards too,” Quinn said.

“Good point,” the Doctor said. “You can come with then.”

“Great!” Quinn said.

Thus Kim, Daria and Kaelyn went to search the bathrooms. “With our luck, It would probably be the last one,” Daria said.

“Probably,” Kim said. “But we have to be thorough.”

“Sarcastic, are you?” Kaelyn asked.

Daria nodded as they passed a classroom.

“The principal probably knows we’re sneaking about,” Kaelyn said.

“I notice the cameras. There are more than there are at Middleton,” Kim said.

“That was something I noticed when I started here,” Daria said. “The Principal seems intent on running the school with an iron fist.”

“I have heard something about it,” Kaelyn said. “But aren’t most principals like that?”

“More so than the principal at my last school,” Daria answered. “And he had more of a reason.”

“Where was this?” Kim asked.

“A dying town in Texas,” Daria responded. “I don’t want to say more.”

“No problem. I have been to many dying towns, tracking down villains who think they can hide there amongst the decay,” Kim said as they came up to one of the bathrooms.

They searched that particular bathroom, but Stacy wasn’t there. “How many bathrooms in this school?” Kim asked.

“About half a dozen,” Daria answered.

The Doctor, Quinn and Ron emerged into one of the courtyards. “Is she likely to be here?” the Doctor asked.

“Yes,” Quinn answered. “There’s no one place in the school that she likes to hang out in.”

“So, she could be anywhere?” Ron asked.

“Yes,” Quinn answered. “But we’ll find her if the others don’t.”

The Doctor waved the sonic screwdriver. “There are few people here.”

Quinn walked through the courtyard, then called Stacy’s name, but there wasn’t an answer. “There are few more courtyards.”

“Of course,” Ron said.

Daria, Kim and Kaelyn checked another two bathrooms. They met Brittany Taylor as she came out of the third one.

“I haven’t seen Stacy,” Brittany said as she twirled one of her pigtails.

“Then we’ll keep looking,” Kim said.

“Can I join you?” Brittany asked.

“Um, sure,” Daria said. “That’s Kim, and that’s Kaelyn.”

“Does it have something to do with that brownout earlier?” Brittany asked.

“Yes,” Kaelyn answered.

Quinn, the Doctor and Ron entered a third courtyard.

“There’s someone here,” the Doctor said as he examined the sonic’s output.

“I’ll approach them,” Quinn said. She went over and saw that it was Stacy, hiding beneath a tree.

“Quinn?” Stacy asked, with some trembling in her voice.

“Stacy, I know that something happened during that power flicker.”

“Yes, but it’s hard to explain!”

“You can take your time,” Quinn said.

“We don’t have all that much time,” the Doctor said.

“Who’s that?” Stacy asked.

“I told you about the Doctor before,” Quinn answered.

“That’s him?” Stacy asked. “But who’s that boy? Does he also travel with him?”

“I’m Ron. No I don’t travel with him. I help save the world with my friend, Kim Possible. You haven’t heard of her yet.”

“They come to Lawndale to investigate what’s going on,” the Doctor said.

“OK,” Stacy said. “It was the flicker, but I felt something strange too,” she began.
Kaelyn started preparing the snacks. She did so quickly and efficiently, but she made each one slightly different.

“So, you aren’t going to eat?” Ron asked between bites.

“No, I don’t need to eat,” Kaelyn answered. “Just charging and maintenance. I may look human, but I’m anything but on the inside.”

“Of course!” the Doctor said.

“I have plenty of charge, and I rarely leave the house,” Kaelyn added.

“So, what are you allowed to tell us about your family?” Kim asked.

“It depends on what is asked,” Kaelyn answered.

“And you deflected the question,” Kim said.

“I didn’t. I don’t know what questions you’re going to ask. All I know is that I won’t answer any that are too personal,” Kaelyn said.

“That’s fair, I guess,” Kim said.

“So, you’re a robot, right?” Ron asked.

“I believe that we established that,” Kaelyn answered in a snide tone.

“I mean. Are you known to the government as a human or what?” Ron asked.

“Ah,” Kaelyn said, quietly. “Apparently, I was named after a daughter they lost. But they haven’t said much about her.”

“I see,” Kim said. It didn’t surprise her that much.

“Far from the first time I encountered such,” the Doctor commented.

“Both of them are engineers who work for Landon Engineering.”

“Haven’t heard of it,” Ron said.

“It’s rather local,” Kaelyn clarified.

“I’ve heard of it,” the Doctor said.

“They make a variety of products, including various types of robots.”

“So, could Andrew Landon be involved in something nefarious?” the Doctor asked.

“I wouldn’t know,” Kealyn answered.

“But we could find out,” Kim said.

“But would it be something to do with the portal?” Ron asked.

“It’s almost certainly related,” the Doctor said. “I could get UNIT to check. But first we need to head to the High School.”

“Why?” Kim asked.

“There are a couple of sisters who were investigating the portal with me earlier,” the Doctor answered.

“In that case, we’ll do that,” Kim said.

Kaelyn called her parents )
Doctor Who – Troubles of Ronisaka
The TARDIS materialised on a coral outcrop.

“The TARDIS is underwater?” Clara Oswald asked as she looked at the console.

“Yes. We’re on Neohonshu, a planet colonised mostly by the Japanese. 95% of it is covered in oceans,” the Doctor answered.

“That’s why we’re underwater,” Clara realised. “But how are we going to get anywhere?”

“You think the TARDIS wouldn’t be equipped for such a situation?

Clara looked at herself in the mirror. She had to admit, the sub suit looked stylish. ‘I guess this is something the Doctor came across rather than something the Time Lords came up with,’ she thought as she made a final touch. She tied her hair up in two buns above her ears, completing the Nihon-derived style. Wait, had the Doctor been to Neohonshu before? She had earlier asked about the collapsible helmet. “Collapsible helmets are cool,” he had said. Sure, they’re cool, but she was sure that something could go wrong too.

Entering the Console Room, the Doctor saw that Clara was already there, waiting pensively at the door. He had to admit, the combination of suit and hairstyle suited her. She seemed to have a sense for what would look the most pretty. He dismissed that line of thought. “One thing,” Clara said.

“Oh?”

“There don’t seem to be air tanks.”

The Doctor placed his right hand on her shoulder, causing her to give a small smile. “Artificial gills. They extract breathable oxygen from the water,” he explained.

“And the Carbon Dioxide?”

“Extracted from the helmet and dissolved into the water. Nothing will go wrong,” he reassured. He clicked his fingers in his left hand, and the door opened, with the water not entering the TARDIS. “Ready?”

“Yes,” Clara answered. She pressed the button, raising the helmet. The Doctor took his hand off her shoulder and raised his own helmet. He then took her hand.

“Geronimo!”

Clara wasn’t really ready for the Doctor to jump out of the TARDIS into the water, but she recovered quickly enough to follow him smoothly. She clicked her fingers, closing the TARDIS doors. She looked forwards and below, and saw a small submarine town on the edge of the atoll. She and the Doctor swam towards it.

The town was busier than expected )

“Does this happen a lot?” Illana asked.

“No,” the Doctor answered.

Clara looked at him.

“Yes,” he admitted.

Illiana sighed again. “We need to do better than that if we are to find out what it is.”

“I agree,” Clara said.

The Doctor lead the way, although Kaelyn knew the way through Lawndale much better than he did. It didn’t take them that long to get to the High School.

“This is good too,” Ben said.

“Thanks!”

“So, is it true?” Anna asked.

“What is true?”

“That you fell out with Sandi?” Anna answered.

“It’s more that she fell out with us,” Quinn answered. “It was just a long time coming. It’s just that me being in grief brought it about.”

“Grief does change people,” Ben added.

‘There’s something there,’ Quinn thought.

They talked for another ten minutes before Anna had to go and Quinn grew antsy.

“See you later,” Anna said as she left.

“I better go too,” Ben said.

Soon, SpiderGirl left Lawndale High from above the library. She headed to the south, towards downtown. She wasn’t sure what to make of Gerald leaving when he did. What was it that he refused to hear? She wasn’t sure. ‘But what can I do to connect with him and to help him connect to Anna and Ben?’

She needed a second opinion. She paused and turned to the west, to head towards the Pizza place.

Daria was alone at the Pizza place again, when Quinn entered. “The same?” she asked as she came up to her sister.

“Jane was here, but she had to leave early,” Daria said.

“Oh.”

“But that isn’t why you’re here, is it?”

“No,” Quinn admitted.

“Was it to do with those ‘misfits’?”

“Yes. It’s going well with Ben and Anna, but not Gerald.”

“What happened?” Daria asked.

“Like I did an icebreaker thing, meeting them in the library and asking them to find books they were interested in.”

“You got one on fashion?”

“Close,” Quinn said with a slight giggle. “One on drawing.”

“Got it,” Daria said. She saw that Quinn was shifting her interests.

“But that wasn’t the problem.”

“One of them didn’t want to share.”

“Oh, he shared,” Quinn said.

“When you shared,” Daria said.

“Yes.”

“I see.”

Arrietty looked at Spiller again. She wasn’t sure why she was looking at him. The feeling she was feeling was different than with Sho. She was quite sure. “Definitely,” she murmured.

“Quinn?” Stacy Rowe asked.

“I’m fine, Stacy. It’s just that it could be anything,” Quinn responded.

“I can come with you,” Stacy offered.

“Sure,” Quinn said.

Quinn knocked on the office door.

“Come in,” Li said.

Quinn entered. “You called, Ms. Li?”

“Yes. I know you still haven’t got any extracurricular activities after the end of the Fashion Club.”

“I guess I haven’t been looking, what with Christmas coming up and all.”

“Yes. Mrs. Manson is available,” Li said. She shook her head. “But that isn’t why I called you in.”

Christmas. That was going to be difficult. But Quinn put it out of mind. “So, why?”

“Most of the students of this school are reaching their potential…” The Principal started.

But Quinn interrupted. “You want me to tutor Kevin?”

“Let me finish, Ms. Morgendorffer!”

“Sorry.”

“Apology accepted. That’s something your sister might do, after the holidays. Anyway, there are three misfit students you may be able to help,” the Principal then handed a page over.

Quinn read it. “Anna Coultard… Has a reputation for being weird. That she does.”

“Yes. Whatever the truth is. She isn’t reaching her potential. There are two others.”

“Ben Harrod. A hypochondriac. This hypochondria prevents him from interacting with most of his peers due to his fear of germs. Ugh. Probably still thinks girls have cooties.”

“That’s inaccurate. He is friends with Anna,” the Principal interjected.

“I guess,” Quinn said. “And the last one. Gerald Brown. A loner. I guess like Daria would be if she hadn’t met Jane.”

“Maybe,” the Principal said.

“So, you want me to help these people?” Quinn asked. “How?”

“Encouraging to join in. With each other at first. We’ll see how it goes.”

The Doctor didn’t have to wait long before the robots came along. One looked like an ordinary Maine Coon. The other like an ordinary young woman.

“Come out, intruder,” the latter said in a normal sounding voice.

“I’m coming out,” the Doctor said.

“And the other two,” the robot woman said.

“What other two?”

“The girl, and the boy with the Naked Mole Rat.”

“Oh, them.” the Doctor said. “They’re not with me.”

“They followed you in.”

“Wherever they are, they are closer to whatever device is interfering with the electricity in Lawndale.”

“It isn’t something that’s dangerous,” the robot said. “And you are?”

“You can call me the Doctor.”

“The Doctor…” the robot considered.

“And your name is?”

“Kaelyn.”

“Kaelyn,” the Doctor considered. He wasn’t sure that she was telling the truth.

As Stacy returned to her seat, she tried to ignore Sandi’s glare. “What was that about, Stacy?” the latter asked.

“Um, nothing,” Stacy said.

“It’s not nothing,” Sandi said.

Stacy turned back to her work.

The Doctor approached the source of the interference. It looked like an ordinary stretch of street, with the usual suburban houses, much like the rest of Lawndale. There had to be someone using one of the houses as a base. He whipped out the sonic and walked along the street.

At the same time, Kim and Ron were also approaching the area. “This is the street,” Kim said.

“It just looks like an ordinary street,” Ron said.

“You should know by now that looks can be deceiving.”

“I know.”

Kim took out the Kimmunicator. “There is definitely something here.”

“So, we’re just going to walk along and narrow it down?”

Kim nodded.

The Doctor soon found it. )
“What’s happening, Amiga?” Jane asked.

“The Doctor, again,” Daria answered.

That was all Jane needed to know. “Gotcha.”

Daria then filled her in on what was happening, including the portal to Middleton.

“I see,” Jane said when Daria had finished.

“We need to look out for unusual activity.”

“Of course.”

Quinn met her friends. “Quinn!” Stacy Rowe called out.

“Hi, Stacy,” Quinn said warmly.

“You were with that guy again, weren’t you?” Sandi Griffin asked in an icy tone.

“Sandi!” Quinn cried out. “Not right here…”

“And why not?” Sandi asked.

“I don’t want the whole school to know!” Quinn retorted.

“I guess not,” Sandi said.
