Team Possible investigate a portal that has appeared in Middleton that leads to Lawndale several years in the past.

“There aren’t any records of a portal.”

“But?” Kim prompted.

“There are references to ‘strange events’ occurring in early-to-mid May of 1999, so something is definitely going down.”

“Thanks Wade.”

“So, we’re going to get involved?” Ron asked.

Kim gave him a look.

“Of course, we are.”

“Whatever happened in Lawndale is almost certainly going to spill over to Middleton.”

“So, what now?” Ron asked.

Two days later, Quinn arrived at Stacy’s house on the way to school. “How did it go with Pizza Forest?” Stacy asked as she let Quinn inside.

“They were quite annoyed,” Quinn said with a giggle. “But I think we need to get out of the class.”

“I have the notes,” Stacy said.

“Great!”

Quinn arrived at the portal, where she found the Doctor waiting on the other side.

“So?” he asked.

“There is information on Lawndale.”

“And?”

“It matches what I know,” Quinn answered.

“It may be the same Earth, but in the future,” the Doctor groused. “There is potential for cross temporal problems here.”

“So, we wait for Daria?”

The Doctor thought for a moment. “She’s still heading back to the TARDIS. We can meet her part way, on her way back.”

“We’re going to leave the portal?” Quinn asked.

“We’ll come right back.”

Quinn nodded. They then left the portal.


( Daria was a third of the way home when she heard something. )

Once through the portal they looked around. The Doctor with the sonic and Quinn with the binoculars. There weren’t any people nearby. The area was a park similar to the park in Lawndale. “We need to find out where this is,” the Doctor mused.

Quinn nodded. “That should be easy,” she said, although she knew that things weren’t always easy.

“Look for some signs,” the Doctor said.

Quinn nodded and wandered off, making sure to take note of landmarks. The portal was large, but some of the trees were taller than it. She soon found a sign. “Memorial Park.” That didn’t tell her much. Given the way the TARDIS translation worked she wasn’t even sure it was in English. She sighed, but she did see a street in the distance. She was sure to figure out where this was over there.


The Doctor also looked around for a clue as to where they were. He looked at the vegetation in the park. It was very similar to the vegetation back in Lawndale. ‘Not very conclusive,’ he thought. It may well be an American city, but then it could still be anywhere on Earth in the 20th or 21st Centuries. He saw that many of the species were rather common for Earth parks. He looked back at the portal and could see the dark patch of sky over Lawndale.
