Prayer represents a deep intimate relationship between humanity and the Divine. It builds community.

Ephesians 6:18

Prayer
- A discipline and a delight.
- A privilege and a responsibility.

Intercession:
To pray for God's purpose in the lives of others.
To stand between God and other people and pray for their needs - to ask for mercy and grace.
It is a spiritual position before God - to remain standing until you have the assurance that God heard and releases you.

Jesus and the Holy Spirit are interceding for us with the Father.

What it is is more important than what it is called

Christian growth is the process of becoming more like Christ, deepening in faith, bearing the fruit of the Spirit, God's word, prayer and the work of the Holy Spirit.

The cloud is associated with God's presence
E.g. God guiding the Israelites through the wilderness after the Exodus.

Run with perseverence the race that is worked out for us.

How? or Alas!
How, why, is this happening?
The prophet isn't hiding his pain or anguish.

Turned toward God.

David brought his pain to God.

Lament - the expression of faith under strain.

Gratitude

Give thanks in all circumstances.

The good is Eternal Salvation provided through Jesus Christ. That is everything!
