Excerpt from: Doctor Who: An Ordinary Wednesday
They soon came to the closest of those other locations. Again, there was nothing visible. “There’s that feeling again,” Dani commented.

“Blimey!” Clara exclaimed.

“And as odd as the other place,” the Doctor added. “Still not sure what to make of it. Better take another scan.”

The other two nodded.

“Inconclusive again!”

“Same!” Clara said.

“The same here,” Dani said.

“We’ll go a third location and see if there’s anything different,” the Doctor decided.

“Sure,” Clara said.

“I hope it isn’t a waste of time,” Danielle groused.

“We’ll get more data and hopefully we’ll make some sense out of it,” the Doctor said.

“Do you usually do this much running around?” Dani asked Clara shortly afterwards.

“Quite often,” Clara answered with a smile on her face.

“You must like the exercise,” Dani mused.

Clara nodded.

They met the same kind of disappointment at the third location. “Hopefully the TARDIS will be able to make sense of it,” the Doctor groused.

“You don’t come across something you don’t understand often?” Dani asked.

“More like, all too often,” the Doctor responded.

“I’m not tired. I’m used to being on my feet all day,” Dani murmured.

Clara overheard. “Without a break?” she asked.

“There are breaks,” Dani answered. “But I can get exhausted by the end of the day. Especially if the café is busy.”

“I haven’t worked at a café,” Clara admitted.

“What do you do? When you’re not travelling with the Doctor?”

“I’m either a nanny, house keeper or live-in tutor,” Clara answered. “It can be difficult keeping a headstrong teenager in line. Especially while I’m studying to be a teacher.”

“That seems like a heavy load,” Dani responded.

“It’s not that bad,” Clara said. “I’m helping a friend.”

“I’ve been working at the café for a few years,” Dani admitted. “Living on the edge of London with a few friends, travelling in on the Tube. I’m wondering if the people in this Outback town have it easier.”

“Outback?”

“I don't mind a few dents, but change the radio station and you're a dead man,” she said to the valet.

“Amy!” her sister, Rita called out. “How delightful. I thought you weren’t coming.”

“I wasn't, but I thought if you two could put aside years of bitterness and resentment, then so can I... for a day,” Amy responded.

“Oh, Amy, why do you say such ridiculous things?” Her other sister, Helen, said.

“Out loud?” she asked, stirring up her sisters further and she walked between them.
