She decided to talk to Ms. Li right away.

“Ms. Morgendorffer?” Li asked as they both came to the office at the same time.

“I started the mentoring, yesterday,” Quinn started.

“Something happened?” Li asked.

“Yes,” Quinn answered with a nod. “One of them ran off in the middle of the session.”

“Which one?” Li asked, as if she wasn’t surprised.

“Um, Gerald. The nerdy one.”

“Not surprising Ms. Morgendorffer. I will talk to him later in the day. But first, what about the other two?”

“They stayed, duh! I think it’s going well with them.”

“Good.”

“But I have an idea,” Quinn said.

“What is this idea?”

“But there’s no blood in the classroom,” Brittany said. “I mean, there is, but no one’s bleeding.”

“We’ll, the people are bleeding,” Jane said.

“Blood?” Kevin Thompson asked. “Cool! Hey, Jane, paint something with blood on my canvas. And maggots!”

“The problem is… This canvas is too small,” Jane said.

“Too small?” Kevin asked.

“I see what you mean,” Brittany said. She twirled a pigtail as she contemplated this, but something then distracted her.

“Good morning, students,” Principal Angela Li aid. “Where is your instructor?”

“She went to the ladies room,” Brittany answered.


Li took that information in and took out a tape recorder. “10:25, Defoe leaves post without clearance for personal business. Initiate investigation.” She then turned to the students. “Anyway, I just dropped in to caution you that the school dance is in two weeks, and security is going to be especially tight. So, if anyone is thinking of rigging a bucket of pig's blood to the rafters, well, they can just forget it.”


“Interesting,” Brittany commented.

“It’s just a dance,” Jane commented.

“Just a dance?” Brittany asked. “It’s a school dance. An opportunity for seeing a side of others we don’t usually see in school or in sports.”

“Which I’d rather not see,” Jane said as she added a stroke to her painting.

Brittany sighed.


“The Dance is going to be cool!” Kevin said as he left the class.

“Is it?” his girlfriend Angie Zammit asked.

“Yes!”

Excerpt from: Down the Wormhole
The Portal opens in Sherwood Forest in 1193. It is the Merry Men who discover it. After the initial shock had worn off, Robin decides that taking people through the portal would be an effective way of fighting against the Sheriff of Nottingham’s power.

It doesn’t take long for the Sheriff (and Prince John’s advisors) to suspect that something is amiss., especially as less taxes are collected and once populous villages appear more and more deserted. Indeed, more people are brought into Nottinghamshire from elsewhere in England.

This doesn’t last long. Guy of Gisbourne discovers the portal early in 1194. The Sheriff doesn’t believe him at first, but orders are given to secure it. However, the Merry Men are able to hold it for an additional year while more people are sent through. The Sheriff then hunts for Robin and the Merry Men on the other side.

The Doctor followed Xavier out of the TARDIS. She didn’t want to talk to Xavier about regeneration yet. She wasn’t sure how he would react. She looked around. The ship had landed near the Tokyo Tower. She remembered that her previous self had landed somewhere near the bay. “Unlikely,” she considered.

“So, where to avoid?” Xavier asked.

“It’s not so easy as that,” the Doctor objected.
