Nina knew Alpha was holding something back, most likely the status of the torpedo inventory, but didn't ask. “That's good,” she said, regarding the repair status of the shields.

Alpha pointed to the port console. “The Operations Console, where ships systems are monitored and the crew's activities managed.” She then walked back to the rear consoles.

In Brazil, the economic crisis continues to intensify. Unemployment reaches 20%.


Europe
It is noted in Asturias that enthusiasm for joining Spain is down from previous years.

In the Rhineland, there are protests (believed to be part of the 26.8% that voted against annexation) against the South German government.

Anti-Greek protests in Cyprus intensify through the year…


Asia
Even with peace having been achieved in Iran the previous year, oil exports out of the Middle East are still below average.


Oceania
Late in the year, the State of New England is formed from the north-eastern region of New South Wales. A referendum had been held earlier in the year.

Environmental protests occur in Sydney, after the University of New South Wales publishes a report that Dams have had a negative impact on Biodiversity of fish species in the Murray-Darling Basin. (And that any new dams would contribute to climate change.)
