The sighing faithful
The faithful in Jerusalem were sitting around sighing.
Context - Idolatry in Jerusalem.
People worshiping pagan gods and the Sun.

Jeremiah 38:31
God asks the King to surrender to Babylon.

God will not allow evil to continue forever.

A man in linen marking the foreheads of the faithful.

Mark 8:11, 12
Jesus was exasperated at the sinfulness of the Pharisees.

Jesus has overcome.

Sighing - reminding ourselves that the world shouldn't be the way it is.

Job 3:34

Teaching us to trust.

All things are in God's hands.
