“Come in Jane, Jen,” Mrs. Morgendorffer said. “I hope you’ll be able to help Daria see that she’s wrong.”
“Same here,” Jane said.

“No doubt you want me to just reveal the names of the people involved and let Officer Peterson here do her job, but I want to explain how I came to the conclusion I did, without naming those who helped me, other than the other members of the Mystery Club.”
She looked around. Most of the other students were looking around at the other students.

“Q!”
Q turned and saw Stacy Rowe coming towards her. “Stacy.”
“Sandi is stirring things up again,” Stacy said with her usual anxiety.
“Just what I need!” Q groused in a similar manner to Daria.
Sandi turned a corner. “There you are Q.”
“No! Sandi!” Q said. “I know what you’re going to say!”

Freya looked around, and found that it wasn’t overwhelming. “I can hear something.”
“Our entry triggered a recording,” the Librarian said. “The sound of the Central Plaza during the Treasure Hunt back in 1895.”
“Sounds like the Treasure hunt this year,” Janara commented. She wandered back next to Freya. “It’s calming, isn’t it?”
“Yes,” Freya answered. “But I’m sure that we’re here for a reason.”
“This chamber contains records of neurodivergent investigators, like yourselves, who had gathered information on the history of the University and of Aurora overall,” the Librarian responded. “They go all the way back to the Fourth Age, early in the Roman occupation.”

Daria and Sandi were still looking at the map of Oakwood when Quinn entered the café.
“Quinn!” Joey called out.
Daria looked, as Sandi continued looking at the map. “What have you been doing?” she asked with concern.
“Looking into things,” Quinn said in a careful manner.
‘She doesn’t want to tell us everything,’ Daria considered. ‘But she did find something.’
“You went back to the hospital, didn’t you?” Joey asked.
“I did. A couple of Lawndale’s heroes had rescued the Professor from Oscorp,” Quinn responded. “Along with one from Oakwood.”
“The silent one?” Larissa asked from nearby,
Quinn nodded.
“Which ones?” Daria asked.
“SpiderGirl and Ninja Talon,” Quinn answered carefully, sure not to give anything away.
“So, the professor was taken from the hospital to the Oscorp facility,” Daria said as she turned back to the map. “And then was rescued.”
“Osborn must be livid,” Sandi commented from behind Daria.

The bell rang and they headed to Homeroom. Stacy found she was worrying about Quinn as much as she usually worried about herself.
Quinn thought more about it as she headed to Homeroom.

“I have heard rumors about hidden archives at the University,” Olivia added.
“You haven’t mentioned them,” Janara said. “Although similar rumors of hidden libraries in Urbs Aeterna crop up on forums from time to time.”
“Both are accurate,” the Librarian said. “Although I only know the locations of some of the hidden archives and libraries on campus and out in the city. There would be more information on them amongst these records.”
Freya wandered to an alcove and then quickly turned back to the professor. “Why now?” she asked.
“Because, as a group you were about to reach a point where knowledge of these records would prove vital, and to let you know that you, as a group aren’t alone.”
“That’s obvious,” Janara said.
“And most often, you’ll find that most investigators in the past were alone, or made up rival pairs. Only a few teams managed to stay together.”
“I can hardly imagine that,” Janara said as she looked at both Freya and Olivia.
“You have been supportive, and your group was formed early. I have kept eyes on you since you looked for that manuscript two years ago.”

Excerpt from: Scarlett Investigates
Scarlett O’Connell hadn’t expected to be investigating a sabotaged play. She just wanted to learn to improve her art while investigating minor campus mysteries. She had made some backdrop pieces for the campus production of The Tempest and had arrived at the college’s theater to find something wrong. The stage was a mess. She saw that the curtain had fallen completely. “Something’s not right here,” she said as she fidgeted with her tablet.
“It’s a curse,” someone said nearby,
Scarlett turned, and saw that it was Daniel Fields, a theater student on her floor. “What do you mean?” she asked, as she fidgeted with a keyring in her pocket.
“Minor incidents have been occurring all week.”
“All week?”
“Yes, mostly broken props, but now the curtain has fallen,” Daniel answered.

Daria turned to Sandi. “No more than is usual,” she said.
“So, what now?” Joey asked.
“We keep listening to the radio. Oscorp might make another move tonight,” Daria answered.
“What can you do?” Larissa asked incredulously.
“Not much here, I admit,” Daria said.
Daria thought about what Larissa had asked. She couldn’t really answer any other way without revealing to everyone in the room that she and Sandi were two more of Lawndale’s heroes. ‘I did come here in response to Quinn’s call, but Sandi didn’t have to come,’ she thought. In fact she was sure that Quinn and Sandi being in the same room wasn’t conducive to good planning either. “But I wasn’t here earlier when I probably should have,” she added. She looked at Quinn, who was fidgeting. “Anything else you can add?”
“That what looks like most of the Oakwood PD is still around the hospital,” Quinn answered. “Oscorp might be planning something else.”
“Or they might not,” Sandi said.
“Or they still might,” Daria said. “Either here in Oakwood, or back in Lawndale with two of heroes known to be absent.”
“We could go around in circles about this,” Quinn said.

“I’ll wait for the report,” Neelix decided.
Less than a minute later, DOTs materialized in a chamber in the planetoid. They quickly picked up dilithium signatures at various places, including a particularly large concentration close to them.
Voyager showed the scan data on the viewscreen.
“See, there is a large concentration of dilithium,” Neelix said.
“I will send the DOTs to check it out first,” Voyager said. “There’s something I can’t quantify in this data that is making me uneasy.”
“Uneasy, how?” Kes asked.

Jane Lane didn’t expect Mr. O’Neill to call out her name. “Jane! You'll never guess who's waiting by the phone to hear from you!”
“One of my wandering siblings?” Jane asked sarcastically.
“It's... oh, my gosh! This is much too public. Sorry, Daria, but I’m sworn to secrecy.”
“I bet it’s a psychic hotline,” Daria Morgendorffer snarked.
Jane noticed that the teacher’s lounge was mostly empty. “Okay, I'll tell you who we're calling. It's Val! You know, the Val. As in, ‘Val.’“ He picked up the phone. “Val, please. This is Timothy O’Neill, the one who sent in Jane Lane’s artistic doodles. Of course I’ll hold.” He turned back to Jane. “Val is coming to Lawndale High to spend whole day with you! Jane, haven’t you heard of Val?”
“The editor of that ridiculous teen magazine?” Jane asked.
“Yes. She loved your artistic doodles.”
“How did she see them?”

Freya noticed a pattern in an alcove and went over to it. She ran her hand over it. “Oh,”
“What is it?” Alexia asked.
“Another syneasthete,” Freya answered. “At least that is the impression I’m getting. Someone similar to me a few hundred years ago.”
“With how large this room is, I expect there are records from former students of all neurotypes,” Alexia said.

Excerpt from: Spider Quinn
Quinn went to the counter. “We’ll keep listening to the radio and be prepared.”
Sandi wasn’t sure what Quinn had been up to, but she focused on the Oakwood map. The Story Oak was in the middle of town and Oscorp had no offices nearby. “Just that place on the east side,” she murmured.
“What’s that?” Daria asked.
“Just noting where Oscorp is present,” Sandi responded.
“The only one we’re aware of,” Daria pointed out.
“I agree.”
Back at the hospital, Officer Vale finished interviewing Ninja Talon. “Thanks for letting me know,” Vale said. “Although there is stuff you held out on.”
“As I said, that’s up to Spidey.”
“And I see you are good friends.”
“We help each other with what we do,” Ninja Talon said.
“I suspect more.”
“But that’s all I’m saying,” Ninja Talon said as she left.
She headed back to the room where Professor Alder had been again placed for observation, where she found him and the silent vigilante playing a game of Go Fish.
