“Good Morning, Claire. This is Peter Parker, a new assistant who has started here today. I am assigning him to you.”

“I wasn’t aware of this,” Claire said.

“It was a last minute decision by the District,” Li admitted, before leaving the room.

“Becca!” It was her friend, Daniel Brennan. She knew he missed her for he had said as much when they parted.

Dani shrugged as she turned back to the vista and Amelia joined her.

“What do you think of the break in?” Amelia asked.

‘Things are getting worse,’ Dani said, her signs showing her annoyance. ‘Crime is increasing!’ She then ran her fingers through her hair for emphasis.

“Is it?”

‘Yes,’ Dani answered with a nod and a sign. ‘I have been following the reports.’

“People are moving here, changing the town…”
