Star Trek Discovery 2.07 'Light and Shadows' review

Light and Shadows
The seventh episode of season 7. While Burnham goes looking for Spock, Discovery investigates a temporal anomaly near Kaminar. Following up on her promise to look for Spock, Burnham asks for leave to search for Spock. But more on that later. The anomaly plot line is more than just investigation of the anomaly, although that was very well presented. The effects of the time loop occurrences reminded me of similar effects in We'll Always Have Paris. But there is also the interpersonal developments, between Pike and Tyler.
The situation with them being caught in the shuttle with the anomaly allows them to overcome their trust issues. This is portrayed very well. As are the scenes when the shuttle is attacked by the upgraded probe. Tilly and Stammets cooperating in looking for a way to find Pike and Tyler in the anomaly was done well also. The scenario with the probe is interesting, especially given that was cracking Discovery's computer (and Airiam)... That latter occurrence is certainly set up for something down the line.
Then there is the storyline with Burnham and Spock (also Amanda and Sarek). The depiction of Vulcan is consistent with the earlier episodes. (Of course there would be rain!) In any case, the flashbacks do an excellent job at establishing the link that Spock and Burnham had established as children. Amanda is further developed. That she would hide Spock in a temple (where Katras would hide his telepathic signature) is believable. Not so certain about Sarek though. Why would he turn his son over to Section 31?
Talking about that covert agency? Rather interesting that Leyland would lie to Burnham about helping Spock. (Right... A mind sifter, wouldn't a tool one would use to heal whatever altered state Spock is in.) More interesting is Mirror Georgiou, is it the Defiant knowledge that is motivating her to help Burnham rescue Spock? Or is it something else. Certainly the scene in which she and Burnham fight was well choreographed. Then there is the revelation about what Spock's numbers mean.
