Doctor Who – Peri Saves the Day
Perpugilliam Brown was annoyed. The Doctor was unwell. But he was in the Console Room! “What do you think you are doing?” she asked. “You should be in bed!”
“The TARDIS is restless,” the Doctor objected. “We need to go somewhere.”
Peri raised an eyebrow. She knew the TARDIS was alive, so to speak, but she wasn’t sure how it could be ‘restless.’ “What are you saying?”
“We need to be somewhere, before something happens that I could have stopped,” the Doctor snapped. He then input instructions into the console, setting the TARDIS into motion.
He then collapsed. “I told you!” Peri remonstrated.
“Too bad I still haven’t replaced the Zero Room,” the Doctor groused as Peri tried to help him up.
“Zero Room?” Peri asked herself.
“Nevermind,” the Doctor said. “Just get me back to my room.”
“There,” Peri said as she tucked the Doctor in.
“Thanks,” the Doctor said. He then said. “The TARDIS has landed by now. You’ll have to go out and do what I do.”
“What?” Peri asked, aghast.
“You’ve seen what I do,” the Doctor answered. “In both incarnations.”
“Yes, but I don’t improvise as well as you do.”
