Mirror Mirror - A Change

Jade Coigley felt a sense of satisfaction as she once again approached what in her time would be the Principal’s Residence. She was certain that the Tiegans wouldn’t be there much longer with Jo missing. She snuck up the stairs, sure to avoid being seen by the current residents.
The Mirror was where she left it. She didn’t want to stay in this time much longer, but she hesitated. ‘Why?’ she asked herself. The antiques dealer had said to return as soon as possible. She could think about it later. She then quickly put her hand in the Mirror…
1995
Royce Tiegan had wanted to follow Jade back in time, but he knew that the Mirror would then be unattended in the present (or future).
He had taken one of Jo’s books from one of the boxes and was reading it when he heard someone arriving from the Mirror; Jade!
Jade saw that Jo’s brother was still in her room keeping an eye on the Mirror. She wanted to go, but she didn’t resist one last dig. “Bye! Your sister isn’t coming back!”
“What do you mean?” the brother asked.
“I mean she’s…” she then stopped as something was happening. She felt strange. What? She asked herself.
Royce had seen Back to the Future a few times. He knew something had happened in the past to cause Jade to fade like Marty almost did. But after Jade had completely faded, at the same time as his father had found himself in a CD store rather than antiques dealership, time caught up with him too and he was wondering why he was in Jo’s room as his mother pulled up outside. ‘What’s going on?’ he wondered.
