Resurrection Sunday
John 20:1 - 18
The Power of the Resurrection

vs 5 - 7
The burial clothes were just lying there, as if the body had vanished.

John believed. He was sure.

Mary crying in grief.
From the Divine perspective, the tears were inappropriate at that time and place.
Yet, Jesus was understanding. He called Mary by name.

1 Samuel 3
The LORD calling Samuel.
Eli - "Speak LORD, for your servant is listening."
But it's at the LORD's timing, not the servant's.

Mary and the disciples didn't have a large enough view of Jesus.

In times of fear and doubt Jesus brings comfort.

We believe Jesus is alive with all our hearts.

Jesus fulfilled the purpose of the Law.
He took the consequences of sin by dying on the Cross and rising again!

Faith in the good news.

We believe Jesus is alive with all our hearts.
That is why we share the good news.

Do I really need to stand out as a Christian?

We declare "Jesus is Lord" with our mouths.

Do I really need to prioritise sharing the good news of Jesus?

Spiritual Gifts
Different people have different gifts.

Opportunity to serve.
Paul was addressing a young church with many issues.

Given for the common good.

It is not about you. It's about the Body; about the common good.
People assume that if they have knowledge about a gift that they would have that particular gift.
Gifts are for seasons, for circumstances. It's the Spirit at work, not the individual.
