Rediscovery of the Law

King Josiah knew of the significance of the Law and repented.
Calamity was fortold, but it would take place after Josiah's time.

A chance for repentance.
God wants people to come to Him because they want to come to Him; and Johoiakm doesn't. He's indignant to the point of burning the message.

What do we learn?
There are two responses to God's word.
Most people are in between the extremes. A challenge for the modern Western Church. Reading of Scripture should be our priority.
The greatest blessing is to heed God's Word.
When the LORD tears down, He's tearing down Evil, not people. The evil is rooted out.

Josiah's response: a public repentance and humility towards God.
