Top Gun Maverick delayed review
Oct. 15th, 2022 05:52 pm80. Top Gun: Maverick
35 years after the original Top Gun, Captain Mitchell finds himself called back to Top Gun to teach a group of pilots who include Goose’s son. It is certainly reminiscent of the first film (with many call backs), but not a remake of such. But there are differences. Maverick is far nearer the end of his career than the beginning for a start. The training sequences are similar to the first film. Maverick’s interactions with Rooster were very well done. The other trainee characters were well realized, none were ill contrived.
The actual mission scenes were also well done, with Maverick and Rooster bonding as they escape from enemy territory, icing on a cake. 9.24/10.
