Kellie
10 May 1863
Bisonville
Felicia entered the Saloon. “No one has seen her for a few hours.”
“She may have gotten herself captured,” the Doctor said morosely.
“She knows how to look after herself,” River said.
“Depends on who captured her,” the Doctor said.
“Certainly,” Grefew Kra said.
“So, where could she be held?” Felicia asked.
…
The mysterious figure removed the gag. Kellie remained silent and glared at her abductor. “You aren't going to ask me why I abducted you?” she asked.
Kellie remained silent.
“You don't have to worry about torture. The Doctor will show no mercy if it was even attempted.”
Kellie remained silent. 'Thank goodness,' she thought.
“Speak up!”
Kellie remained silent.
“I may not use torture, but I have other methods of persuasion.”
‘Like a telepath?’ Kellie wondered.
“I ask again, you aren’t going to ask me why I abducted you?”
Kellie just stared.
“Not giving me the satisfaction, huh? I guess I will just have to tell you why. I wanted to get the Doctor’s attention. Now you may think that would be bad move, getting his attention by abducting one of his friends...”
Kellie tuned him out...
After some discussion, the Doctor decided that they would scour the entire town for Kellie.
“Is that a good idea?” River asked.
“Of course it is, it’s my idea,” the Doctor answered.
“A lot could go wrong,” River said.
“No doubt, but it’s all we have.”
“I have to admit, that’s true.”
“Let’s get started.”
Felicia looked at the Doctor and River. “Are you always like this?”
“No,” the Doctor said.
River glared at him.
“Yes.”
Felicia sighed. “Let’s get started then.”
…
Kellie was still tuning the abductor out.
Someone else came into the room. “It appears that she’s not even listening.”
“I know that!” the Abductor said. “But still, she may say something out of tiredness, or in her sleep.”
“There is no guarantee of that,” the other said.
“Wait and see.”
...
The Doctor, River, Felicia and Grefrew Kra had searched the entire saloon. “She’s not here,” Grefew Kra said.
“A waste of time,” River said.
“We still had to check,” the Doctor said.
“Of course,” River said.
“What now?” Felicia asked.
“Elsewhere in the town,” the Doctor said.
“But where first?” Felicia asked.
“Along this street,” the Doctor answered. He turned and walked away. He stopped and walked back. “Are you coming?”
“Of course,” Felicia said.
“Good,” the Doctor said. He left the tavern. “Well, come on then!”
The group left the tavern and began walking southwards along the main street. They didn't know that they were under observation. “You won't find me, Doctor... Not for a while...”
Suddenly, River ducked to the side. “What's wrong?” the Doctor asked.
“Something's not right,” River responded. She looked around, and signalled the others to come alongside her. They all moved alongside her.
“Something else? Or is it linked?” Felicia asked.
“It could be linked,” the Doctor said. “It's most often is.”
“Shush!” River said. The Doctor showed an annoyed expression, but remained silent. “We shall continue.”
The Doctor nodded. They then continued walking down the street.
A minute later, River stopped again. “There it is again,” she said.
The Doctor paused. “Something Odd,”
“What's odd?” Felicia asked.
“Hard to describe,” the Doctor said.
“We just need to be more wary,” River said.
“Great!” Grefrew Kra groused.
“Let's continue shall we,” the Doctor said, his voice warier than before.
“Of course.”
They soon came to a mysterious building. “This doesn't look like it belongs in a town like this,” the Doctor said.
“No it doesn't,” River agreed.
“So, how are we going to approach it?” Felicia asked.
“Maybe just walk in,” Grefrew Kra suggested.
“No,” the Doctor objected.
“Not just walk in,” River said.
“We'll walk around it first,” the Doctor decided.
“A good plan,” Felicia said.
“Better than the earlier ones,” the Doctor commented.
River sighed.
“Let's start,” the Doctor said.
They approached the building. They slowly walked around it, with the Doctor and Felicia going around clockwise. River and Gre'frew Kra were going around the other way.
“This is the tricky bit,” the Doctor said.
“How so?” Felicia asked.
“I'm sure you've noticed that I'm not patient.”
“It seems that you would get better at it,” Felicia said enigmatically.
“Great!” the Doctor groused. “More spoilers.”
“Oops?”
“Do you know anything about Felicia?” Gre'frew Kra asked River.
“A little,” River admitted. “Why?”
“I'm not sure,” Gre'frew Kra said. “She just seems, weird, is all.”
“You think, she's weird?” River said.
Gre'frew Kra had to admit it was ironic to consider Felicia weird, but there it was. “Yes.”
“Can you explain?” River asked.
“I'm not sure. I can't explain it.”
“You better not tell the Doctor then.”
“Of course not!”
The Doctor pondered Felicia's 'spoiler'. He supposed that a later incarnation could be more patient than he was currently. 'It would also depend on my experiences between now and then,' he thought. He also knew he would certainly run into Clara again at some point. He had no idea what sort of impact she would have on him. 'Of course, Felicia said she doesn't know her, but that doesn't really mean anything.'
He and Clara could had stopped travelling together for some reason by the time he would run into Felicia.
River pondered what Gre'frew Kra had said. That Felicia was weird. She knew that nobody was really 'normal'. But Felicia was more normal than most. She shook her head. She wasn't sure where she was going with that line of thought.
Felicia ducked beneath a window as the Doctor cautiously glanced through it. “Nothing there,” he said.
“I'll look too,” Felicia decided.
“Sure.”
Felicia looked. The Doctor was right, there was nothing. It wasn't often that she found something that the Doctor missed. “Nothing,” she said.
“I thought so.”
The abductor stared at Kellie. He was losing patience. He knew he shared that trait with the Doctor. He wanted her to talk, to tell him what the Doctor was planning. He always had a plan. 'I guess she's just that stubborn.'
Kellie too was losing patience. The Doctor was taking a long time to find her. 'Maybe Felicia is holding him back.'
