How much Jesus saw Himself as the Passover Lamb.

The Passover - prefigured the Cross.
The lamb died for the first born in that house.

Freedom from slavery to the Egyptians.
Freedom from slavery to Sin.

Sin is like yeast, as it spreads everywhere in one's life, as yeast does in dough.
We are all sinners
Sin is much more subtle than we think.

1. Father, Forgive Them
Who?
The soldiers
Pilate
The Chief Preists
The Pharisees
You and I

In the midst of His crucifixion, He cried out for forgiveness.
We need to forgive and extend forgiveness to others.

Luke 23:39 - 43
2. This Day You Will Be With Me in Paradise
Jesus was mocked by one of the criminals and by most in the crowd.
Psalm 22:6, 7

But the other criminal showed his faith.

He acknowledged his sin and believed in Jesus.

Again, words of forgiveness and hope.

John 19:25 - 27

3. Woman, Behold Your Son
He is the priority of our life, but we have a responsibility to our family.

4. My God, My God. Why Have You Forsaken Me?

Quoting from Psalm 22
'My God My God' - more distant term.
Forsaken

A promise to cling to.

He was bearing our sins at that point. That is why He was forsaken.

What Jesus said at the Cross
1. Father forgive them
He values forgiveness. That is His purpose. So should we.
Forgiveness should be a high priority in our lives.

The iniquities of us all were laid on Him.

He was made sin for us.

His suffering was real.
Fully God and Fully Man.

Our Savivour is not remote from our experiences. He understands what we're going through.

Judas is offended by Mary's extravagant worship.

Betrayal
Judas betrays Jesus with a kiss.
Matthew 26:69 - 27:9

Things were going from bad to worse because of selfishness.

Thomas refused to believe that Jesus had Risen, until he could see and touch Him.

But Jesus restored them. He restores us.

This is despite Satan's accusations, that lead to self doubt.

We will fail, but we have hope.

Jesus died and rose again.

Hebrews 13:8

We need to live in the sense of the Resurrection victory.

There is very little peace in the world.

Peace - a place of rest, security and trust.

Peace of God
Peace with God

People aren't looking for God.

- Trust your life totally to Jesus.
Confess your sin.

Jesus gives us peace.
The Devil wants to steal peace.
Via guilt.
Or Worry.
Worry
- Distrust in the truthfulness of God.
Overcoming worry.
Philippians 4:2 - 9
You are going to have problems but you are already in the Book of Life.
Enjoy life day by day.
Be gentle
Turn your care to prayer! (vs 6, 7)
A gratitude
The LORD is always available.
