Excerpt from: Daria - Brittany
“What are you punks doing here?” the guard asked.

“Party!”

“You’re not invited. You’re not coming in.”

Despite the guard’s protests, the gate crashers literally crashed their way through…


The Taylor Mansion wasn’t that far into the estate, so it wasn’t long before their presence was heard.

The first Brittany, Donna, Daria and Andrea knew that anything was wrong was when they heard the front door being slammed open.

“What was that?” Daria asked.

“Gatecrashers!” Andrea deadpanned.

“Oh no!” Brittany exclaimed. “We haven’t planned for this!”

“It hasn’t happened before?” Daria asked.

“No,” Brittany answered. She turned to Donna. “Call the police.”

“Sure,” Donna said. She went to the phone.

As she walked along, Agent M saw many of the denizens of the city going about their business. She was sure that many of them were wearing suits so they could share space with the air breathers who also called the city home. ‘That’s obvious,’ she thought. What she could see of the city was completely different to any other city she had been to on Earth. ‘But then this is a hidden city,’ she considered. “How far to the office?” she asked.

“Not far,’” the other agent answered.


They soon arrived at the office. It looked much the same as other MIB facilities.

“Agent M reporting, sir.’

“Agent O told me you were coming,” the man behind the desk said. “She has given you information, I trust?”

‘Of course I would notice her first,’ she thought. She had recognised Velma as someone she could get along with once she began hearing about the group of mystery solvers.

“Jane Lane?” the other girl, Daphne Blake, asked.

“I’m Jane Lane,” Jane said, stepping forwards. “This is my friend, Daria Morgendorffer.”

“Hi,” Daria said.

“So, what is this mystery?” Fred Jones asked.


Velma listened as Jane explained what was going on. “You have recordings of course?” she asked when she had finished.

“Of course. I hope my brother’s band haven’t recorded over them.”



“Band?” Shaggy asked.

“They try to play grunge,” Jane said.

“Emphasis on the word try,” Daria added.

“Right,” Shaggy said.
