Psalm 51

1 Timothy 6:11 - 16

David putting his sin behind him.
Humble beginnings. He was annointed King, but years passed before he became King.

Corruption by Power
Adultery with Bathsheba.
Nathan confronted him - 2 Samuel 12

Exodus 34:6
vs 1, 2
David asked for mercy based on God's character, asking for forgiveness using words of renewal.
vs 3 -5
Confession. He acknowledged that he had sinned. He was being honest with God. We need to be honest with God when we repent.

The sin was against God and His authority.

Sinfulness - attitudes in our hearts.
vs 7 -12

Inner parts

He wanted God's wisdom to guide him.

God doesn't want us to live in the pain of separation, but to be in fellowship with Him.

Was he asking too much?
No!
Hebrews 9:14
We were cleansed by the blood of Jesus!

David was afraid the same might happen to him!

We need to know the Spirit's voice in our life clearly.

God is not looking for religious action. He is looking for genuine repentance. The relationship must be restored.
