Excerpt from: Legacy of the Doctor – Ix02 Into the Dalek

Journey:
Okay, listen up. Now, remember, do not hold your breath when the nanoscaler engages. You'll feel like you want to, but you must keep breathing normally during the miniaturisation process.

Clara: Why?

Vastra:
It would seem, my dear, you are very wrong about that.

Clara: Bye.

Vastra: I knew you would change your mind, Susan.

Scene 34
Int. Console Room

Clara enters the TARDIS and takes in the changes that Susan has made. There are more roundles on the walls where bookcases don’t line them. The console has been changed a little.
Clara: You’ve redecorated.

Susan: Yes.

Clara: It suits you. It may not suit the Doctor, mind, but it suits you.
She turns to Susan and sees that she has made a change to herself too. She has cut her hair similarly to her previous incarnation when she travelled with her grandfather. She’s also wearing a drab suit similar to what her grandfather’s would have been if he had lived.
Clara: You’ve changed too.

Susan: I prefer short hair; it’s practical.

Clara: It suits you. (V/O Does that mean it would suit me too?)

Susan: Thanks.

Clara: Who put that ad in the paper?

Susan: I don’t know.

Clara: And a woman in a shop gave me the TARDIS number. Who was she?

Susan: No idea.

Clara: It means that someone wanted your grandfather and I together.

Susan: Wouldn’t that someone know that he has died.

Clara: Their plan may have failed to take that into account.

Susan: Or they want us to stay together for some reason.

Clara: Possibly.

Susan: We’ll be off in a moment. But I’ll just get something.
Susan exits the TARDIS.

Susan re-enters the TARDIS with a sheathed katana.
Susan: Vastra says this may come useful.

Clara (uncertain): OK.

Scene 35
Ext. Glasgow Street

Susan and Clara exit the TARDIS

Clara: This isn’t home.

Susan: Of course not, but we can get some coffee here.

Clara: Of course.

The End of the Doctor
London, UK
25 December 2014

Clara Oswald was sitting with her family. She was worried about the Doctor, fighting the Daleks on Trenzalore. Suddenly she heard the TARDIS materialise. She stood up. “Everyone just stay put,” she said. She ran off, realised she forgot something, and came back. She grabbed a bon bon and ran out again.

Clara ran into the TARDIS, but came up short of the console. It wasn't the Doctor there, it was Tasha Lem. “You can fly the TARDIS?” she asked incredulously.

“Flying the TARDIS is always easy. It's flying the Doctor I've never quite mastered,” Tasha answered.

Something about Tasha's reply was off. “What's happened to him?” Clara asked apprehensively.

Christmas, Trenzalore
25 Twelfth Month, 900th Year of the Doctor

The town was in a mess. Dalek Saucers filled the skies. Daleks filled the streets, exterminating the citizens they managed to sight...

In the midst of that chaos the TARDIS materialised. Clara ran out of the ship, towards the Tower. She avoided the Daleks.

Clara entered the Tower. She soon saw that they were too late. The Crack had gone from the wall. The Timestream was there, exactly as she had seen it when they were in the Tomb with the Great Intelligence.

“Nooo! We're too late,” Clara said, with greif in her voice, before she broke down and cried.

However, a Dalek entered the room! “THE DOC-TOR IS DEAD!”

Clara turned to it with determination in her tear filled eyes. “He is. But you're not going to go into that timestream.”

“HE IS DEAD. I CAN ENTER THE TIME-STREAM, PLAC-CING DALEKS ALL ALONG HIS TIME LINE!”

“But I can stop you. I have already stopped you!”

“EXPLAIN!”

Clara saw the sonic screwdriver lying beneath the Timestream. She grabbed it and turned back to the Dalek. “The Great Intelligence already went through. So did I. The Daleks will fail.

“IM-POSS-IB-LE!”

“That's me, the Impossible Girl!” Clara said. She pressed the button on the sonic. Smoke emerged from the Dalek's dome.

“I AM NOT IMPAIRED! EX-TER-MIN-ATE!” The Dalek then fired.

However, Clara was ready and avoided the beam, which caused some of the pictures to burst into flame.

The Dalek exploded, Tasha Lem had shot it. She came fully into the room. “I see that we're late. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Run Clara!”

“Where?” Clara asked as she fought back tears.

“To the TARDIS! It's up to me to protect the town now,” Tasha answered.

“That’s what you think,” the Doctor said.

“There was a sighting of a ship near this house,” Shona said.

“Those aboard my have come here, Ma’am,” Clara added.

“Now, Quinn... what do you see here?” Mrs. Margaret Manson asked, holding up an image.

“It's a picture of two people talking,” Quinn answered. 'Easy,' she thought.

“That's right. Can you make up a little story about what it is they're discussing?” Manson asked.

Quinn didn't like it one bit. “I'm not even supposed to be taking this test. I'm exempt,” she said.

“You won't be graded,” Manson said.
