Settling
It was different, he reflected. Without his friend of many years it was going to be difficult going forward. It would be difficult for all of them. But they would be looking to him as Chief to help them move forward. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III turned from the sea where, over the horizon, their dragon friends now lived. He looked at the village of New Berk, where construction was continuing. He saw Astrid coming towards him. “Hiccup, they’re ready.”
“I’m coming,” he said. It would be the first meeting of the Council on New Berk. On the agenda was amongst other things the issue of a name for the Village rather than just New Berk. After all the village on the Old Berk had been Berk too. Many names had been proposed for the village. Hiccup was all for just calling it Berk, no need to be more sentimental than that. There were rumors going around of naming it after his father, or for the Dragons, but he was sure those wouldn’t be good ideas.
