Back at the Operations Center, Lieutenant Commander Delzia Olua signed off on from the communication with the commanding officer of the Hathor. She thought about her introduction to her Commanding Officer. 'That could have gone better,' she reflected. But whether one was Joined or not was a personal matter! Especially after what had happened at Mak'ala over three decades before. Of the others on the base, only the chief medical officer needed to know. And possibly other Trills on the base. 'But I don't know them yet,' Olua thought.
“Commander,” Someone was calling her attention.”
“Yes, Ensign,” she answered.
“We have received another message, another runabout is entering the sphere,” the Ensign said.
“Return the signal,” Olua said.

Daria shook her head at Quinn's malapropism.
“Time machine, yes,” Jodie answered.
“Why here?” Quinn asked.
“And from how far in the past or future are you?” Daria asked.
“The past, but only by a few minutes,” Jodie answered.
“A few minutes?” Daria asked.
“As for why here? Why not?” Jodie asked rhetorically. “My father said that I could test the time machine that we had been building over the past few years, and that I could bring others on the time journey.”
“I see,” Daria said.
“What about Mack?” Quinn asked.
Jodie sighed. “He made me promise not to let him know about it,” she said in an annoyed tone.
“Oh,” Daria said.
“So are you interested?” Jodie asked.
“Yes!” Quinn said.
“I suppose I must come along too,” Daria said.
“Great, Daria,” Jodie said.
“But we need some preparation. To get some food and clothes, in case something happens. And some water of course. Shouldn't take too long, about ten minutes.”
“Of course, Daria! You get the food and water!”

Then she heard two other voices. 'They sound familiar,' she thought. She came closer. She could then two silhouettes in the fog. “Hello? Who's there?” She came closer and then saw the two figures more clearly. 'Impossible!' she thought.

She sat up in the bed, she then recalled that it was her brother's birthday. Or rather, adopted younger brother, but she rarely thought about that. Her current Mom and Dad were better than what she could remember of her biological Mom and Dad. 'Happy Birthday, Tommy,' she thought.
