Hebrews 8:1 - 9:12
The original readers were wondering whether Jesus was qualified to be their High Priest.
Jesus is continually in the Father's presence. (As opposed to the High Priest only being able to enter the Most Holy Place once a year.)
Humans could not obey the old covenant.
The old covenent pointed the way to the New Covenent.
The High Priests' sacrifices did not deal with sin properly.
Jesus' sacrifice dealt with sin once and for all.

We are Perfected
Being made Holy.
Perfected - Gr. Perfect tense
- past - continuing into the future
Being made holy - Present tense.
- It won't be completed while we are on the Earth.
God's Grace is Infinite
vs. 9:14
God had a purpose for your life.
He saved you for that purpose.

Consequences that flow from Jesus' being the Great High Priest.
We can confidently enter God's presence.

We need to draw near to God with an open heart. because Jesus' Blood has covered our sin. God wants to know each of us personally.
Baptism is an outward expression of this.
We draw near to Him through prayer, meditation and quiet contemplation of Scripture.
Busyness is an enemy of closeness to God.
'Do you really intend busyness to stand in the way of the unintterupted reign of God in our lives?
What are you achieving with your busyness?

We need to hang on with both faith and hope.

We need to be together.

When Gideon got the victory, his faith increased.
Sometimes we need to let go before God will increase us. We need to put the Kingdom ahead of our lifestyle. God needs to be the focus of our life.
God will go for the thing that is a hinderence to you.

What does it mean to have faith?
Faith is an essential ingredient for living as a Christian

It's a basic necessity
Faith needs to be focused on God.
Faith believes in something better
To be involved in the forfillment of God's plan for the world.
'There is no humanly possible way for it to happen. But God can make it happen'
Faith is obeying even when you don't understand

Abraham obeyed despite not knowing where he was going.
Faith is giving when you have nothing.
Abraham's faith could have coset him everything
Faith is persistng when we don't feel like it.

Faith is thanking God before receiving blessings.
Faith is Trusting even if you don't get it.
