Promises that we can change to become more like Christ
Verse 3
Paul is describing himself and all other Christians
It's not just about other people!
It's also about us!
Change is possible in Christ
Verse 4
Romans 6:17, 18
We have been set free from sin.
1 Corinthians 6:9 - 11
Ephesians 2:3 - 7
We are made alive in Christ because of His mercy.
Colossians 1:21, 22
God hates sin, but He is Kind.
Romans 2:4
His Kindness leads to repentance
Change is possible
Titus 3:5
We are being reborn, renewed and remade in the Spirit
Titus 3:7
Psalm 1
We need to meditate on the Word day and night
We can change we ask God in prayer.
The Spirit directus us in the way we should go.

We see a God who forgives, who loves and who has authority.

The angels are servants
If we turn our backs on Jesus, we turn our backs on God.'

The angele were created, but Jesus was the creative force
Jesus is superior to the angels, other people, possessions and our abilities.

Drifting happens very slowly!

Fear is the opposite of faith.
We should act in faith, not in fear!

Careful attention is the opposite of drifting.

If something impure comes into contact with something pure, the impurity spreads!

Jesus forfills the role of High Priest perfectly

Jesus' mercy is based in His humanity

We can approach God confidently
We are invited to come to God's presence, whenever we like
It is a throne of mercy, grace and help.
The separation is over
Jesus' atoning sacrifice on the Cross has dealt with our sins forever (the scapegoat was a shadow of what was to come)
We are welcome in God's presence.

- meets our needs in the way that the Levitical Preisthood could not.
Life is uncertain - we have no control
If we have faith in Jesus - we have a place of security and peace.

This gives us an anchor for our soul.
Jesus is secure and firm.
