In the USA midterm elections, the Social Democratic Party loses voter share to the National Union Party.

In Canada, Prince Edward Island gains provincial status.

In Venezuela, President Hugo Chavez resigns after protests against his increasingly corrupt administration grow out of his ability to deal with. Nicholas Maduro is elected as president and institute changes such that another Administration like that of Chavez wouldn't happen.


Europe
Norway and Denmark both become Monarchies.
Denmark chooses the House of Glucksburg, Margrethe II takes the throne.
Norway chooses a different branch of the House of Glucksburg. Harald V takes the throne.

In the United Syndicates of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Island, London is made the permanent capital, with the Parliament meeting in the Westminster Hall. (Later to be renamed Westminster Palace after the Monarchy is restored.)

Russian settlers continue to leave Hungary.
