SpiderGirl paused. An Oscorp team was coming. “Talon!”

“I hear them,” Ninja Talon said as she knocked back the agent she had been sparring with over one of his webbed up colleagues.

“Gotta go,” SpiderGirl said, before both she and Ninja Talon withdrew back behind the corner.

The Alchemax team leader managed to reach the web dissolving fluid, but he only had time to dissolve his own bonds before the Oscorp security team arrived. He headed in the direction that SpiderGirl and Ninja Talon had retreated.

Peterson knew something was happening. ‘But I can’t just barge in without a warrant,’ she thought, not for the first time. But the various employees in the lobby were agitated about something.

“We’ve captured most of the Alchemax team, sir. SpiderGirl found them first.”

“I thought she might,” Osborn responded. “Hand them over to Officer Peterson, who is still in the lobby.”

“Sir?”

“It will keep her busy, and we won’t be antagonizing the LDPD too much. I still don’t want them interfering with Operation Rooftop.”

“Yes, sir.”

“He’s still following,” SpiderGirl said. “But we need to know what he’s after.”

“You’re saying we may need to team up?” Ninja Talon asked.

“Alliance of convenience.”

The Alchemax agent was suspicious. He was sure that SpiderGirl and Ninja Talon would stop him from actually obtaining his goal. “This is suspicious,” he said.

“I know it seems that way, but this way we’ll all find out what Oscorp is doing,” SpiderGirl responded.

“But I won’t get it.”

“No,” Ninja Talon said. “But you’ll find out what it is.”

“I’ll give you that. I guess I have no choice for now but to agree.”

“Good,” SpiderGirl said. “But now we still need to avoid Osborn’s security.”

“Peterson,” an Oscorp official said as he entered the lobby.

“I’m here.”

“Security has apprehended members of an Alchemax infiltration team. They will be here within a few minutes.”

‘I can’t arrest them by myself,’ she thought. She grabbed her radio and requested her partner to call for backup.

The Enigma continued downwards, to the second floor. “This is where it is,” she murmured.

“Stop where you are!” A security guard said from down the corridor.

“I don’t have time for this!” she said as she sent a wave of telekinetic force and knocked him off his feet. “One of these doors.”

“Wait!” The guard said. “You don’t know what’s there.”

‘Protection!’ The Enigma thought as she raised a forcefield. “Then tell me.”

The guard remained silent.
