Video Assignment Chaos – Part 2
Day 2
At Lawndale High School, the first class of the day was in session. “...So, as an exercise in living literature you’ll all be making your own movies,” Mr. O’Neill said. “We have Brittany to thank for that exciting suggestion.”

“Great!” Brittany groused, rubbing her head.

“Relax,” Andrea instructed, with a worried tone.

“Now, before we split into movie making teams, who would like to direct?”

Almost the entire class put up their hands shouting, “Me! Me! Me!”

“Great!” Brittany groused again.

“Let’s try this again,” Mr. O’Neill said. “You can all take turns directing, but we still need teams.”

Movies
Baljeet Tjinder didn’t know what to expect when Isabella Garcia-Shapiro and Adyson Sweetwater had invited him to an afternoon of movies.

“So, which movie would you like to watch?” Adyson asked. She held up a DVD. “The original King Kong?”

Isabella held up another DVD. “Or Flushed Away?”

“I’ve seen neither,” Baljeet admitted. “Although I’ve heard that King Kong may not be for people our age.”

“I don’t think it’s that bad,” Isabella said.

“But I haven’t heard of the other movie,” Baljeet considered.

“It’s about a pet rat that’s washed down into the sewers and discovers a whole society down there, that he has to help rescue,” Adyson said.

“I see,” Baljeet considered. “And King Kong is about a large ape, isn’t it?”

“Not only that,” Adyson answered.

“He doesn’t appear until halfway through,” Isabella clarified.

“So, it’s about people who go to some strange place and find him?”

“Yes,” Adyson answered.

“It’s a bit difficult to choose. They’re both about characters who make mistakes and learn from them, right?”

“That’s true,” Isabella said.

Baljeet thought for a moment. Would there be time to watch both? And if so, which to watch first. “Can we watch both?”

“Sure,” Adyson said, with a look at Isabella.

“Yes,” the latter said.

“Flushed Away first,” Baljeet decided.

“Good choice,” Adyson said.
41. My Neighbors the Yamadas
Rewatch. Series of slice of life stories about the Yamada family as they navigate various crises and relate with each other. Each of the stories is well written, and covers a specific situation (such as the young daughter being left behind at a department store) and how the family navigates that situation. Overall, it is a very good character study. 8.9/10.
