Purpose of the Bible
God reveals Himself to us.

We need to learn from the examples of the people in the Bible. Don't do as they did.
Don't make their mistakes.
The warnings are for us, so that we may not fall to temptation.
Don't step back and judge other Christians, offer encouragement (to do good).

Discernment is needed, when reading the Word. This is where the Holy Spirit comes in.

Be impacted by the Word.

Jesus was in high demad
He took steps to ensure that He had time alone with the Father

He built a 'buffer zone' so that He would have time alone with the Father.
Without margins, relationships suffer (or aren't built up at all)
If you don't read God's Word, your Christian growth will be stunted.
Avoid people who are a bad influence
