4.02 Meet the New Boss
The Second episode continues from where the first left off. The Ghost Rider storyline continues, with Quake continuing her investigation. It is also revealed that there was some kind of experiment involving some kind of tome, with some scientists being trapped in some kind of other dimension. It is Quake, along with Mack and Fitz who witness the Ghost Rider dispatching at least one of the ghostified scientists. This was done rather well. However, the focus of the episode is back at the Playground, where the new Director is showing Congresspeople the facility.
Something is wrong with May. Is it to do with the Ghost Rider storyline, or is it something else? Whatever it is, it is causing her to hallucinate. (This was shown at the end of the last episode, but is far more obvious in this one.) In any case, Ming Na Wen really sold it. The scenes where May is going crazy were really well done. The new director is rather reasonable, and gets on well with Coulson. The revelation that he is an Inhuman is appropriately dramatic. The other characters continue to developed (and there is hardly any focus on the Congresspeople.)
A good continuation of the storyline. It would be interesting to see what will happen to May. Can it be reversed? 9/10.
