32 X-Men Apocalypse
The 8th film in the X-Men Cinematic Universe, based on the comics from Marvel Comics. Set 10 years after the timeline altering events of Days of Future Past. The Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters has been operating for some time. Shortly after Scott Summers arrives at the school, the actions of a cult releases En Sabah Nur, an ancient mutant who once ruled as Pharoah in Egypt, from his millennia long hibernation. Thus sets in motion a near apocalyptic chain of events, that only the new X-Men can stop.
This is a rather good follow up to the X-Men series, specifically, Days of Future Past, although it is not as well made as that particular outing. The plot and most of the scenes are really well done. The characters (those from First Class and Days of Future Past) are developed further, and some of the new ones (including alternate versions of those from the original trilogy) are used rather well. The world-wide ramifications of En Sabah Nur's plans are also well realised (although the Sydney seen is slightly anachronistic).
It is shown that Xavier has learned from the mistakes the original trilogy version of himself made (via the information that Logan provided in the previous film). Magneto's role in En Sabah Nar's plans is also developed well. The film is worth seeing. 8.5/10.
