Chapter 7: Mysteries of Lawnton

“Huh? Don’t they know that we’re from two different worlds?” James asked.

“I suppose the one with the slightly large head is interesting,” Darian said.

“You’re just interested whether it’s a deformity or not,” James said,

“That's part of it,” Darian said.

“I don't know whether it is or not,” Charla said.

“Charla, thanks for the tour, but you can go now,” Darian said.

“Feist! I shall see you later,” Charla said. She leaned back and tried to whisper in Darian's ear. “Confidentially, I may join the Mystery Club,” she said in a flirtaceous tone.

“And you would be welcome to, go!” Darian said.

As Charla left, the two girls approached. “Hey, Partying hard or hardly partying.”
 
“Hardly interested!” James said.

“So.. where you boys been all our lives?”

“We’ve been waiting her for you,” James said. He smirked to Darian. “We were born here, in this room. We then grew up in this room. We thought we would die here alone! But now you’ve come, and so our lives can get started!”

“He likes you,” the other gal said to the big headed one.


Darian spotted Quinn near one of the ceramic tigers.

Roberta hopped into a car down the road. “Well?” her mother, Megan, asked.

“She didn't buy it,” Roberta said.

“Of course she didn't. You appeared out of nowhere and accused her of not knowing her boyfriend.”

“She may not! I'm not sure I knew him,” she said with slight bitterness. As much as she had forgiven him, for what he put her through many years before, over and over again, it still hurt.

Her mother gave her a look of sympathy. “He may have matured since.”

Roberta nodded. “Still, at least Corrine will investigate Kelsington.”

“Good,” Megan said as she started the engine.

“And maybe find out about Elias' exploits...” Roberta added. She hadn't been able to find out, but maybe Corrine could.
“Possibly,” Megan said as she turned off the street with which she shared the name,


After reading more articles detailing events in New Oxford in August 2004, Corrine had called Elias.

“So, we just pick a direction to go in?” Tabi asked.

“Yes,” Lady Me answered. “But we have to stick together.”

Tabi rolled her eyes and started walking away from the TARDIS. “OK.”

“Follow your cousin,” Lady Me said to Ella.
