Dhaka - Less than that. (Most of the Christians are in the more rural areas.)

We can still see those who are harrassed and anxious.

'Australians have everything except a reason to live'

It was our sins that Jesus suffered for.

Sermon
Matthew 22:36 - 39
Discipleship - Dependent upon who Jesus is and what He has done for us.
Life is about loving God wholeheartedly and loving neighbours as ourselves.
Jesus needs to be Lord of our lives. We need to submit to Him. Otherwise, we are repeating the Original Sin.

Philippians 2:5 - 11

Ephesians 5:25 - 27

Is Christ's Lordship recognisable in our lives?

We serve Him by serving others. We need to love with actions of kindness.
Does your expenditure of time and money reflect Jesus in your life?

Philippians 3: 1 - 10
We all need to know Christ more and more. as a friend.
A friends understands our silence.
Paul gloried in the Cross, because it had changed his life. The Cross proved Christ's friendship selfless. Everything we find in a friend, we find it in Jesus. Paul was willing to die to self interest. Everything else outside Christ he considered loss.

Knowing Jesus - surpassing greatness. He hungered to know Jesus.

Psalm 42

We need to have the knowledge of Christ to become like him, and to know what He would do in our circumstances.
It is a continuous process.

Ephesians 5: 22 - 31
Different kinds of connections
A partner requesting connection response.
Kindness and generocity
Looking for the positive or negative
Positive or negative - drawing together or tearing apart.

God has a character of kindness
Titus 3:4

Look for an opportunity of kindness
e.g. David and Mephibosheth.
God's kindness is what draws us towards Him.
It is an essential part of His character.
It should also be an essential part of our character.

Submission has nothing to do with misogyny.
The two are equal but the wife is to submit to the husband as the Church to Christ. The husband is to have a love that adds value to the wife. He is to seek the best for her. Christ seeks the best for us.
It is not about the two as individuals. It is about the couple as one.
The husband and wife need love and respect for each other.
They need to turn towards each other.

How do we best raise the next generation?
What is the most important thing you want for them?
Priority
Their salvation

We have a responsibility to them.

Prerequisite
The truth of God must first be on our hearts

How important is the Bible to us?
It is not just an academic pursuit

It is for the heart. It is not merely a rulebook.

It is about everyday conversation.

The Day of the Lord
Two Types of People
- Those who are ready
- Those who are not

For those who are unprepared.
1. It will be sudden and unexpected
When have you faced something unexpected?
No need to fear?
Keep on living as normal?

2. It will be disasterous
'Peace and Safety'

For those who are prepared...
It will not be a surprise
They are in the light
They will be ready for it whenever it happens

The day of the Lord
Expected Salvation
Unexpected destruction

We have a hope
Lets not be found asleep or in darkness. Let's encourage each other to be living in the light.

Keeping each other 'on track'
Sharing the gospel with those unprepared, so that they will experience a day of happiness.
