Gary Hart wins over 300 Electoral votes. There are recounts in some Southern states, but there are no major controversies. (Even so, there are protests in Mississippi that threaten to get out of hand.)

The uprising in Washington continues, but it is losing steam.


South America
A rebellion in northern Brazil is defeated.

Uruguay’s claims on Argentinian and Brazilian territory are resolved. This would set in motion the resolutions which will occur in the next few decades.

Bessarabia declares itself independent from Dacia. It is suspected that the referendum may have been rigged.
