Despite some hastily set up defenses by the Mormons, Salt Lake City falls to the Western Federation.

Texas declares New Mexico as a 'sister republic', but find that the Western Federation intend to take the state for themselves. Governor Colquitt then decides that Southern New Mexico would do. Negotiations between the two for a dividing line are still ongoing as of the end of the year.

Florida continues to build up defenses in the north of the state.

The Brazilians continue to lose to the Communists in the south.

Europe
Desperate for survival the Habsburgs agree to the territorial exchange with Italy. However, despite Italian troops being feilded alongside Austrians, communists comtinue to make gains.

The Dutch government flees to Aruba as the Netherlands is taken over by the German United Workers Republic.
They also make gains in the east (that is, Central Germany).

Oceania
South Australia gains Dominion Status.

The assassination of Alfred Deakin hadn't stopped discussion of a possible Federation of the British possessions in the Pacific. (If Deakin had been assassinated to stop this, they made the wrong move.) However, the low level discussions between Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland have been going nowhere, and still are going nowhere. They cannot agree on the federal model.
