“Ms Jericho, I have never known you to pass up such an opportunity for gossip. You must be hiding something!” Ms. Li said.
 
“I’m not hiding anything!” Torii said.
 
“Neither am I,” Andrea added.
 
“It is clear that you are hiding something. I’m hooking you up to the polygraph machine!” Ms. Li said.

“We have a problem in the West Pacific,” Agent O said.

“Always seems to be the way,” Agent M snarked.

Agent O ignored the remark. “Mariana, located on the abyssal plain to the east of the Mariana Islands,” she explained. “It is where most aquatic sentients live after they come here.”

“I see,” Agent M said. “So I need some super diving gear or something.”

“The special equipment will be provided on site.”

“Cool.”

Agent O handed her a holocard. “All the information you need is there.”


The underwater city was invisible as the Hyperloop carrying Agent M approached it. Then suddenly it appeared, a large cylinder of lights with domes on the sea floor around it.
