The Power of Jesus
Transformational
Verse 5 - He understands that he's in the presence of the one he's persecuting.
He later becomes persecuted himself.

1 Corinthians 5:13

1 Timothy
Paul admits to his sins prior to meeting Jesus.
He thought he knew the power of God until he met Jesus' transforming power

Healing

Relational
We need to allow Him to work in us.
He came to restore your relationship with Him

Acts 10

Peter faced some criticism from the Christians in Jerusalem
God actually brought the events about.
Therefore they were criticising God!

There is no growth without change
There is no change without loss
There is no loss without pain

Peter changed in a fundamental way
Romans: 9, 10
Romans 3:20 - 30

God's racial policy is simple, all humanity is offered the forgiveness that comes from the cross of Jesus.

Paul is able to draw upon his many backgrounds to reach others for Christ

Paul took the opportunity that was given
The people want to hear Paul again
However - there is conflict and persecution and Paul and Barnabas have to leave.

Can we embrace change?

Paul pressed on - He was willing to pay the price
He was stoned (Did he think of Steven?)

Acts 16: 1
Acts 15:37 - 39

Paul and Barnabas pressed on.
Rejection - one of greatest fears
They overcame their disappearance and kept going.

We need to allow the Bible to influence us, otherwise we would stand on shaky ground.
