“I know,” Deanna said.
“This is going to be a long discussion.”
Deanna nodded.
Vaughn then began asking Troi about her time in Section 31.
An hour later, Vaughn thought about the situation. As he had implied, Troi was far from the first officer to be dragged into the situation. It was far from the first time he had brought an officer out from the rogue organization. Even so, it was a unique situation. Luthor Sloane was particularly elusive and responsible for many crimes and interstellar incidents over the past few decades. His superiors had made it clear many times that they wanted him brought in, before the Tal Shiar, Obsidian Order or any other foreign organization caught him.
He looked over the information Troi had provided again. There was an opportunity. He had to contact his superiors from the Starbase. He told Troi so, telling her to stay aboard Enterprise while he awaited a response.
Lwaxana saw Vaughn exit the lounge where he had been talking to Deanna. She felt the waves of worry and determination come off him.

They soon arrived at the main town. It looked rather crowded, taking up most of the space on a plateau. It also seemed that they had arrived in the middle of rush hour.
“Is it that late?” Pete asked.
“It’s the same time zone as the United Kingdom.”
“Of course!”
“The ping came from the middle of town,” Myka added.
“It will take a while to get there.”

“That would have been cool.”
“It did look like a sprawling blight on the landscape,” Daria mused, “but it did look interesting, particularly in the center.”
“Yes, that is where all the action is, other than the two Malls.”
“Two?”
“Yes, there are two,” Jodie said.
“And I suppose my niece is familiar with both of them.”
“Niece?”
“She’s a freshman. Quinn Morgendorffer.”
Jodie thought as if she was in thought. “I haven’t talked to her much,” she admitted.
Daria took out her timetable. “Science is next. I don’t suppose the teacher is normal?”
“I’m afraid not,” Jodie admitted.
“What’s the science teacher’s issue?”
“She’s an embittered divorcee who takes out her frustrations on her male students.”

Brittany found what she was looking for. ‘Here it is.’ She looked around to see if Daria or Jennifer were close by. They weren’t. She grabbed the book and headed towards the counter.
Jennifer found a book. “Oooh! Edward Rutherford’s Sarum!”
“Sarum?” Daria asked.

She laughed and added. “But, seriously, this is a great opportunity for you, and the even greater good of Lawndale High.”
Daria rolled her eyes, but didn’t say anything.
However, someone else did.
