Excerpt from: Daria – Mega Mall Mega Problems
Brittany looked at her coupon again. Books by the Ton. ‘Maybe I can turn this to an advantage?’ she thought as she twirled her hair. Despite her earlier outbursts, there were still subjects she was interested in. ‘But where is that store?’ She looked around as she twirled one of her pigtails. It would take forever to find it. ‘Maybe if joined with someone else?’ she pondered. She looked around, but there were very few of her classmates still in the area. Jodie had gone, but she did see Daria and Jennifer in the distance.


“You hear that?” Daria asked.

“Daria! Jennifer! Wait!” Brittany called as she ran up.

“Hi Brittany.”

Excerpt from: Dragons – Berk in Time
“Did Snotlout tell you what we’re investigating?” Astrid asked.

“Yes,” Spitelout answered.

“Then why are you coming?” Hiccup asked.

“If there’s a threat to Berk, I want to deal with it!” Spitelout said as she drew his sword.

“We’re just investigating to see if anyone is aboard that ship,” Hiccup said. “They would be frightened enough when they see our dragons.”

Spitelout sheathed the sword. “I’m still coming.”

Excerpt from: Daria – Trouble at the Coffee House
“Yeah, what was I thinking?” Jodie said in an imitation of Darian’s usual monotone.

“We’ll see,” Darian said in response to his friend’s ribbing. He was sure that if he waited long enough, the crush would go away. But if anything, it was getting stronger. ‘I still think it won’t work out!’


Darian was still thinking about it when he got home that evening. ‘Mom allows Quinn to date most nights,’ he groused as he came up to the door. The door opened before he could open it himself.

“Darian!” Quinn said. “Mom was wondering when you would get home.”

“I was at the Landons!”

“Oh!”

“We were doing homework! Besides she’s with Mack!” Darian said. Quinn was being annoying yet again.

Quinn smiled. “I knew that!”

Darian went inside, tuning out his younger sibling’s prattle. But before he could go upstairs he heard his mother calling from the kitchen.

“Candace?”

“Phineas and Ferb are building a fairground in the backyard!”

“A fairground?”

“Yes!” Candace said. “You have to come home and see it.”

“I’m filling in for your father at the Antiques Store this morning.”

“Oh.”

“I’ll be home in the afternoon.”

“Jinkies!” Velma exclaimed.

“Something unexpected?” Daphne asked.

Velma rolled herself out. “Oh, just some older wires needing replacing. It’s going to be another hour.”

“Well, here’s lunch if you want to take a break,” Daphne said.

“Sure,” Velma said as she leapt to her feet.

“I shall,” Lillian said.

They talked for a while longer, Wendy about how she was doing with her classes, and Lillian about how she expected to settle in with the Morgendorffers and Lawndale High.


Lillian hung up from the call to Wendy refreshed. She was ready to meet the Morgendorffers. 'I hope they are home tonight!' She looked out from the hotel room over Lawndale. The late afternoon sun caught the fall foliage in a very aesthetically pleasing way. 'It will be more pleasing later in the Fall.'


The Morgendorffers were getting ready for dinner when there was a knock at the door. “Who could that be?”
