1 Thessalonians 2: 1 - 10
Each person is called to become the person God had in mind when He created us.
Philippians 2:5 - 7
Jesus humbly gave of Himself.
Adam tried to take on something that wasn't his.
Our attitude should be the same as that of Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 2: 3 - 9
It only takes 5 seconds for someone to cause emotional pain to another.
Gentleness is underrated in the modern world.
Isaiah 42
We need to be more like Him. He can gently nurse you back to spiritual health.
We need to act in gentleness.
It is difficult, but it is an unearned favour.
1. Remember the gentleness of Jesus.
- Don't ignore others feelings - we need to respond in a particular way.
2. Be gentle with ourselves
- We shouldn't continually punish ourselves for past failings
-- Forgive yourself
- An unearned favour to ourselves based on Jesus' sacrifice
3. Be gentle to others
- A crossroads
- Remind yourself of how God has treated you.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 - 16
Focus on one thing.
We need to focus on the Kingdom of God.
vs 13
The Bible is God's word, not the word of men.
That changes everything. It's all the difference in the world. We need to change, grow in God.
2 Timothy 3:!6
The purpose of scripture is to transform you. It is not just words on paper. The Spirit underlies the words. It is living, dynamic.
Colossians 3:16
1. Ask God to meet you in Scripture.
2. Read the Bible with a repentant heart.
3. Meditate on a brief passage of scripture.

Matthew 20:1 - 16
A fairly normal occurrence in Jesus' day.
vs 8 - 12
A denarius - a generous day's wage
Vs 13
God - unfair in an amazing way.
- If He was fair - we'd get nothing. Nothing but death.
- Beautifully unfair
It's good to remind ourselves of the basics. The amazing truth of God's grace.
It is tempting to go back to works.
Nothing except God's grace can get us into Heaven.
In God's grace - we're free from sin. No longer going to hell.
Are you living in thankfulness for His grace?
Not because you deserve it, but Jesus took your place.
There is rejoicing in heaven when someone is saved.

Luke 10:2 - Prayer for Global Interaction - (Older Workers retiring, younger workers and funds required).
1 Thessalonians 2:17 - 3:11
Paul valued the Thessalonians. He was anxious about them. He wanted them to grow in Jesus.
Questions
Is anyone:
- Going to heaven
- Growing in Christ
-- Because of you?
Paul found someone and sent him to strengthen their faith. The relationships we share involve encouragement. (It is about giving, but also receiving. It is easier to give than receive.
Paul gave encouragement, but when he needed help, he asked for it.
Shaken, stirred and lured away
- Materialism
- Feeling let down by other Christians
- Arguements
- Discouragement
Prayer - That those who are being persecuted would remain firm in their faith
- - Maturity and growth in Christ
- That we also would stand firm.
- Don't exclude prayers for the situation to improve.
Being saved is not the end. It is the beginning.
